Captain Cook Cruises: 4 or 7 Nights, Yasawa or Northern Fiji

The Reef Endeavour carries 130 guests, which is small enough to get into anchorages the big ships can't reach and large enough to have a pool, a sauna and a lift between decks. Cruises run from Port Denarau most Saturdays. The Yasawa itineraries take you north through the Mamanucas — Monuriki where Cast Away was filmed, the volcanic peaks of Waya, the Blue Lagoon — with a marine biologist leading the snorkelling and glass-bottom boat trips. The northern itineraries go somewhere different again: Levuka's colonial waterfront, the Taveuni waterfalls, and the four cultures of Vanua Levu at Kioa, Rabi and Labasa. Every main meal is included, and unusually, so are local beer, wine and soft drinks with lunch and dinner. Cabins run from lower-deck porthole rooms to Tabua Suites with a separate lounge. Children five and over are welcome, with a kids' club for the little ones.

Cancellation. Deposits are forfeited on any cancellation; cancel 30–59 days before sailing and 50% is forfeited, and inside 29 days no refund is available.
