Fly Nadi to Taveuni, Savusavu, Labasa or Kadavu

Fiji's north is a short flight and a long boat ride away, so most people fly. Nadi to Savusavu takes an hour and ten minutes with four departures a day; Nadi to Taveuni is an hour and twenty-five, twice daily; Labasa is forty-five minutes; and Kadavu is fifty minutes, four times a week. Fiji Link and Northern Air both run these routes on small turboprops, which means low, slow and a very good view of the reef on the way in. One thing worth knowing before you pack: the domestic checked allowance is tight, around 15kg, and excess is charged by the kilo. If you book your international flight and your domestic leg on the same ticket, your international allowance carries through — which matters a great deal if you're bringing dive gear to the Rainbow Reef. We'll add the airport-to-resort transfer at the other end.
