Monuriki Cast Away Island & Mana Sandbar Snorkel Day Cruise

Monuriki is the small uninhabited island in the Mamanucas where *Cast Away* was filmed, and this trip actually lands you on it. You leave Denarau at nine and you are out for a full eight hours, which is what it takes to do the island, the Mana sandbar and a couple of proper snorkelling stops without rushing any of them. The sandbar only exists at the right tide — a strip of white sand in open water with nothing on it but you. Lunch is a lovo, cooked in an earth oven by the crew, and drinks including beer and wine come with it. Snorkel gear, life jackets and floats are aboard, so weak swimmers are genuinely fine here. This is a boat day rather than a resort day: no pools, no bars, no shade to speak of. Bring a towel. The crew will tell you and people still forget.
