Your captain grew up on these waters. On the way out he'll tell you the stories — the legends of the Mamanuca people, how the islands got their names, what the reefs and the shark god mean to the families who still live out here. Then you get in the water and see it for yourself.

The day

• 8:30am — depart Vuda Marina
• Run out to the islands, stories along the way
• Snorkel the reef — clear water, gear on board
• Beach landing and BBQ lunch
• Swim, paddle board, do nothing
• 5:00pm — back at the marina
