The word safari does not describe a single standard itinerary. Before comparing prices, establish where the ride starts, which route is proposed and what the operator expects from drivers and passengers.
Match the route to your confidence
Tell the team whether you have ridden before and how comfortable you are on open water. Ask about the briefing, practice time and how the guide manages a group with mixed experience. A first ride should give you an understandable progression rather than pressure to keep up immediately.
Find out how much of the quoted duration is riding and how much is allocated to stops or instruction. If a destination is advertised, ask whether conditions can lead to an alternative route. Choose the overall experience rather than relying on one particular photograph.
Work out who drives and who rides
Ask for the minimum driver and passenger ages, any licence requirements and applicable weight limits. Confirm whether two travellers share a machine and whether changing drivers is permitted. Those answers affect both suitability and the true per-person cost.
