Malamala Beach Club and Cloud 9 both feature prominently in Fiji holiday wish lists, but the settings are different. Malamala is an island beach club with beaches, pools and dining. Cloud 9 is a floating platform with a bar and wood-fired pizzeria.
That distinction is more useful than trying to declare one the universal winner. Think about where you want to spend the day and what the least adventurous person in your group will enjoy.
Choose an island setting if shore time matters
Malamala's official website describes beach areas, an infinity-edge pool and bookable upgrades such as daybeds and cabanas. It also distinguishes adults-only areas from the wider club. Check the current access rules and what your chosen pass includes.
If having a reserved place to sit is important, ask what is guaranteed and what needs a separate reservation. A day pass and a particular cabana are not automatically the same booking.
Choose a floating venue for that particular atmosphere
Cloud 9 describes a two-level platform, music, daybeds and dining on the water. Its website directs visitors to an events programme for DJ appearances. Check your actual date rather than assuming a specific performance is part of every visit.
Ask about boarding, swimming access and the current guest policy. If anyone is uncertain about spending the day offshore, discuss that before reserving for the whole group.
Compare the complete day
Put the two quotes side by side with the same questions: Where do we depart? Is hotel transport included? What spending credit or food, if any, comes with the ticket? How do return times work? What happens if weather disrupts the service?
Our suggestion is to budget for the day you expect to have, including any meals, drinks or seating upgrades, rather than comparing admission alone. Confirm accepted payment methods before leaving your hotel.
