Tavoro Waterfalls: Three Falls in Bouma Park, Taveuni

Bouma is a national park run by the villages that own the land, which is why the trail feels less like a tourist attraction and more like a walk through somebody's garden. There are three waterfalls, each one higher up the mountain than the last. The first is a ten-minute stroll on the flat and has a deep, cold pool at its base that most people are in within about ninety seconds of arriving. The second takes another forty minutes or so up a proper forest path. The third is another climb again, steep and muddy in places, and it is the one people come back down grinning about. Allow three and a half to four hours to do all three properly with swimming time. Wear shoes you don't mind ruining and bring lunch — there is nothing to buy inside the park.
