When is the best time to visit Fiji?
Fiji is worth visiting year-round, but the two seasons feel quite different.
Dry season — May to October
Cooler, less humid, and the most reliable weather for boat trips and island days. This is peak season, so book popular experiences further ahead. Australian and New Zealand school holidays are the busiest weeks of all.
Wet season — November to April
Warmer and greener, with short heavy downpours rather than all-day rain. Prices soften and the islands are quieter. Cyclone risk sits mainly between December and April, so travel insurance is worth having.
A practical tip
Whenever you come, book boat-based trips early in your stay. If the weather turns you then have days left to reschedule, instead of losing the experience entirely.
