Getting around Fiji: transfers, cars and boats

Most visitors arrive at Nadi International Airport on Viti Levu, the main island.

Airport transfers

Resorts on the Coral Coast and around Denarau are an easy road transfer from Nadi. Book a transfer in advance if you are landing late — taxi availability thins out after the evening arrivals.

Hiring a car

A rental car makes sense if you want to explore Viti Levu at your own pace — the Coral Coast drive is straightforward. Fiji drives on the left. Roads outside the main routes can be rough, so consider a higher-clearance vehicle for village roads.

Reaching the islands

The Mamanuca and Yasawa islands are reached by catamaran or boat charter from Denarau. Fast catamarans run daily; a private or shared water taxi gives you more flexibility on timing.
